- 2.1 to 3.2 m operating height range (standard platform); higher heights available
- Ideal for longwall salvage, installation, or in severe adverse geological conditions
- Two roofbolting rigs, one on each end, with forward/backward, sideways, and tilting movements
- Mounted on armored face conveyor with hydraulic drives
The Facebolter 3040 is an armored face conveyor (AFC)-mounted, hydraulically propelled roofbolter specifically designed for longwall facebolting during salvage, installation, or in severely adverse geologic conditions. The unit, containing two roofbolting rigs (one on each end), handles 2.1 to 3.2 m operating height ranges.
Mounted directly on the AFC, the 3040 is powered by hydraulics from the longwall roof supports and driven through a sprocket meshed into the AFC rack bars. The 3040 incorporates maximum roofbolting flexibility, allowing a wide range of roofbolter positions, by permitting the two roofbolting rigs to move on sliding mechanisms:
- Forward and backward (toward and away from the face)
- Raising and lowering
A rotary actuator also allows the roofbolt rig to roll over to install bolts into the longwall face.
